One of my directories is paid listings only. It doesn't make sense to have them all show a 'featured listing' badge. I guess an alternative to being able to remove the badge is to introduce another tier, so there are Free, Paid and Premium listings - where Premium includes 'Featured', whereas Paid (or maybe Standard) means that they pay for certain profile options to be enabled, but they are not shown in the Featured section.
